MBSR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, is an evidence-based, contemplative, stress reduction program that improves a host of medical conditions. The primary objective of this program is the discovery and development of one’s own inherent resources for dealing more effectively with stress, physical, and/or mental pain, and illness. MBSR has been reported to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, burnout, fatigue and pain through the cultivation of nonjudgmental, moment-to-moment awareness (i.e., mindfulness). Through a sustained process of self-development that includes daily home assignments, this program teaches participants to mobilize their deep inner resources for learning, growing, and healing, and for taking care of themselves and making positive changes in attitudes and behaviors.

“I have experienced Betsy’s work as a yoga instructor and as a facilitator for the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction workshop. She is outstanding. Her knowledge is very deep, and she is able to give the extra added personal attention that is always appreciated. I have referred many of my Healing Touch clients to Betsy to help support their path to health and well-being. “
