MBSR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, is an evidence-based, contemplative, stress reduction program that improves a host of medical conditions. The primary objective of this program is the discovery and development of one’s own inherent resources for dealing more effectively with stress, physical, and/or mental pain, and illness. MBSR has been reported to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, burnout, fatigue and pain through the cultivation of nonjudgmental, moment-to-moment awareness (i.e., mindfulness).
Through a sustained process of self-development that includes daily home assignments, this program teaches participants to mobilize their deep inner resources for learning, growing, and healing, and for taking care of themselves and making positive changes in attitudes and behaviors.
MBSR Programs and Classes
Online (Zoom) Summer Program: Tuesday evenings, July 7 – August 25. 5:30-8:00 PM. In collaboration with InSeus
In Person Fall Program: Thursday evenings, September 24 – November 12. 6:30- 8:30 PM.
MBSR is an 8 week, 9 session course designed to develop and integrate mindfulness practices into everyday life, using meditation, body awareness, and gentle movement. Learn tools to reduce stress and live with greater ease, strength and resilience. Improve your sense of balance, calm and clarity while learning self-care practices of mindfulness.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Individual Sessions
MBSR is also offered as an individual program, if timing of group classes or your needs are more specific. Through a series of 5 sessions the basic elements of the 8 week program are introduced in a customized way for anyone seeking to learn the practice of mindfulness techniques.
